Sacramento Ditch Trail

The Sacramento Ditch Trail runs from the Shasta Dam parking lot all the way to Walker Mine Rd in Redding.  The trail follows the Historic Sacramento Ditch and is a total of 9.2 miles of dirt single-track surface.   The trail is mostly flat and has great views of the dam, Sacramento River and several seasonal creeks that you cross along the way.

There are several other trails that connect to this one.  You can go another 4 miles to Quartz Hill Rd by taking the Hornbeck Trail, or climb 2.4 miles up to Chamise Peak and enjoy the panoramic views, of the lake, river and surrounding mountain ranges.  Below are some of the photos we have taken on the trail.
